Hi, friends!

I'm so glad you stopped by.  Grab yourself a cup of coffee and let's share about travel, life, and all the bits in between.

Cute Clothes, Awkward Pose 11.18.18

On today’s edition of “Cute Clothes, Awkward Pose”, let’s talk about blazers.

In the last few years, I have become a huge fan of them because they look amazing on everyone—seriously—and they can make a pair of jeans and a t-shirt look pulled together instantly. I love wearing them to work, and I wear them for travel.

Now, I realize that when most people think about blazers they think: Ugh, those are so uncomfortable and restricting!

This can be true, so you want to find the right blazer. First, make sure it’s not too tight, particularly in the arms. When you try it on, check your range of motion to see if it feels okay. Second, if you struggle with discomfort in a blazer, try a knit blazer like the one I’m wearing here. It feels like you’re wearing a sweatshirt, but you look like pure sophistication.

There are lots of knit blazer options available now, including this super cute sweater blazer from J.Crew that everyone has been raving about. I just haven’t invested in it because I’m worried the length might hit my petite frame strangely, but if you’re 5’4” or above, I think it would look amazing on you. And it’s currently on sale for $59.50!

As you can see, this knit blazer has great range of motion.

My exact blazer is Olivia Moon from Nordstrom. Unfortunately it’s sold out, but this is an almost identical version but with little ties at the cuffs—very cute. It’s currently 25% off making it $79.90.

Under the blazer I’m wearing a simple white tank top from Old Navy. My exact version is long gone, but here is a similar one on sale for $8.50.

I’m in love with these pants from Wit and Wisdom, and they are currently on sale for $44.90! They are super comfortable—softer than jeans—hold their shape well, and you don’t need a belt (you all know that’s the main criteria for me falling in love with a pair of pants). They come in a bunch of colors, as well as regular and petite lengths (I’m wearing petite). They run a little large, so I sized down one from my typical size. If your size is out of stock, keep an eye out because it looks like they will be restocked.

And these leopard penny loafers from J.Crew Factory—oh my goodness, they are the best! It took one day at school to break them in, but after that, they have been awesome! They instantly make an outfit more interesting and stylish. They run true to size and are on sale for $53.50!

I just love the combination of colors in this outfit: blush and maroon are beautiful together, and the pop of leopard makes it special. Honestly, leopard can just about be considered a neutral with its mix of black and tan—it can go with just about anything.

I hope this was helpful and gave you a good laugh! I have another outfit post with these Wit and Wisdom pants planned for this week, so stay tuned!

Also, I’d love to know: Are you a lover of blazers, or do you tend to shy away from them? Tell me your thoughts in the comments!
